3 Reasons Why You Should Visit Bol

This post is some sort of second part of my Day Trip to Zlatni Rat post because on that same day I visited Zlatni Rat beach and the lovely city of Bol, where the beach is actually located. So, instead of doing my traditional travel post in which I tell you about what I did in a certain city and which were my impressions about the place, for this case I thought about doing something different because I didn't have the chance to explore Bol as much as I would have liked to.
I have only spent an afternoon in Bol while I was waiting for the bus to take me back to the ferry terminal in Supetar but those hours were more than enough for me to realize the beauty and the potential of this city. So here they are my 3 reasons why you should include Bol in your itinerary if you travel to Croatia and spend there more than a couple of hours. ;)

1- It's very close to Split and it's very easy to get there

If you are planning a trip to Croatia it's very likely that you are going to include Split in your itinerary because it's one of the most popular cities in the country and a great summer destination. And it's also very likely that you would want to visit any of the beautiful islands there are around the area. So here is where my advice comes up, go and visit Bol!
This town is located on an island called Brač which is just in front of Split and you can get there very easily by taking the ferry. The service has a very good frequency during the summer season so you can find the schedule that is better for you and in just one hour you will be on this beautiful island. Once there, you just need to catch a bus to take from Supetar, where the ferry terminal is, to Bol and that bus ride I can assure you has the most incredible views over the Adriatic Sea, so it's totally worth it.

2- You will be close to one of the most popular beaches in Croatia: Zlatni Rat

That's the reason why I went to Bol in the first place because I wanted to visit Zlatni Rat beach. I have already mentioned in my previous post why this beach is so incredible so imagine if you could spend a couple of days in this town just relaxing and going to this extremely beautiful beach every day, doesn't sound bad, right?

3- The architecture is very charming and the sunsets are amazing

Ok, these are two reasons in one but the afternoon I have spent in Bol allowed me to appreciate the beautiful and charming buildings it has. Like most of the other cities in Croatia, Bol has its cute old town part, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and do some people watching while relaxing and breathing the fresh summer breeze. Also, seeing the sunset over the Adriatic is an experience that you will never forget and even though I have tried to capture its beauty with my camera I don't think the pictures do justice to what it really looks like. You have to see it for yourself ;)

That's it, these were my 3 reasons why you should include Bol in your route if you go to Croatia, I really liked this town, it has a more charming, traditional, relaxing vibe than some other popular cities like Split or Hvar so I really feel it's worth the visit. I hope you like the pictures and let me know what do you think of this town, if you have visited or if you would like to go there!
