How to Deal with Post Holiday Blues
The beginning of March means, here in Argentina, the end of the vacations period along with the end of Summer. The children go back to school at this time of the year, the city gets crowded again because all the people are back from their trips and everything goes back to normal.
Going back to real life after an exciting time traveling to somewhere different can be a hard time. We tend to get a little sad to go back to our normal routines, to go back to the office or university, and especially, to go back to responsibilities and obligations. It seems like all the fun and excitement in our lives is gone, but it doesn't have to be that way! So, regardless of whether you are coming back from your holidays or just from a weekend getaway, I would like to share with you my 3 tips on how to deal better with post-vacation blues.
Let's start!
1- Accept the present situation and be thankful for the experience
The first step once you come back from your trip is to accept the present situation. Your vacation is over and you are now home again. It may sound a little bit though but no matter how much we would wish to go back to that dreamy beach we were some days ago, we can't go back in time. We have to accept that now it's the time to go back to our normal life and be thankful that we were able to spend some amazing days traveling, exploring a new place, relaxing and enjoying. Being thankful is something that will always raise your vibration and change your mindset from negativity to positivity very easily and quickly. So, I strongly recommend you to take a moment to thank for those good times you have spent and for all those amazing experiences you had.
2- Appreciate the good things about being back home
This is another easy technique to shift your mindset from negativity: Show appreciation and focus on the positive side of things. I'm sure there are a lot of good things about being home again, for example: sleeping in your own bed again, being close to your family and friends, being able to choose any piece from your entire closet, instead of just wearing what was on your suitcase, etc. ;)
Anything you can think of will help you to feel better about being back.
3- Look for new activities to keep the motivation up even when you are not traveling
Look for something exciting to do that will help you lift up your energy and motivation. That way you won't feel like all the fun and excitement was left in that city or that island you were visiting. Learn something new, try a new workout routine, go dancing lessons, go to a new restaurant or coffee place, etc. All of these activities will make you feel like yes, there are fun things to do in your city and some excitement in your life, even when you are not traveling!
And if all of that is not enough, well, maybe it's time to start planning a new trip! :P I'm kidding, anyway, I hope you find this post useful and please let me know if it has happened to you, that it's hard to go back to normal after an exciting trip, and in case you have any more tips I would love to know them!!! :)
Thank you for the tips. I recently came back from an holiday and was surely tough to get in the real world groove. This helps a lot!!

Thank you so much May!! So happy you find it helpful!! It's very common to go through this once you come back from traveling :)
EliminarMarch over there in Argentina is similar to September here in the UK - it can be a very strange, deflating feeling. I agree! I love this post, you've listed so many great ways to adjust with ease; especially accepting and appreciating the good things about being back at home :) There's always something positive in every situation, after all! :)
