Visiting Zadar: A Place Where the Sea has it's Own Music and The Sun has its Own Light

Zadar has been on my travel bucket list since last year when I first visited Croatia because ever since I found out about the Sea Organ it was my dream to see it and hear it in person. There was something really magical about an organ that plays with the movement of the waves that definitely caught my attention. But last year, I didn't have enough time and I ended up skipping this magical place. I don't regret that decision because I went to Hvar which was also amazing. That's "the problem" with Croatia, there are so many amazing places it is so difficult to decide!! You really want to see everything and sometimes we are limited by the time we have.
But anyway, in this second time visiting Croatia, there was no way I would miss Zadar again! So, one day in the middle of my stay in Zagreb, I woke up very early in the morning, went to the bus station and bought a ticket to Zadar to finally see the place of my dreams. I arrived to the city around 10:30 am, after a 3 hour ride, which also had the most incredible landscapes, full of mountains, tres, snow (yes snow!) and then I ended up seeing the beautiful coast of the Adriatic.
There is something about the Adriatic coast that really fills my heart, I can't even explain it because I'm not such a beach kind of person but I do love the Croatian coast for sure! When I first saw the sea while I was walking in direction to the Old Town, I had to make a stop to feel the breeze in my face, to see the sea again after more than 6 months made me so happy and reminded me why I was so in love with it last year! The magic was still there :)
After that quick stop, I continued walking towards the city center. The Old Town in Zadar is as beautiful as in the other cities in Croatia. It's full of history and beauty, and it also has that Roman Empire vibe, which makes you feel like you are part of a movie.
I stopped for coffee at a place just right beside the Fórum, which was the perfect spot because you could appreciate not only the beauty of the Fórum but also the seaside. And then, I just walked around the Old Town and I took a lot of pictures! There were a lot of beautiful corners which I felt I needed to capture.
After that, it was time to head towards the Sea Organ. I walked a few blocks along the seaside and I found it! It was unreal!
The Sea Organ was built by a Croatian architect called Nikola Bašić as part of a project to reform the city coast and it's a construction of marble steps that have tubes underneath, which produce different sounds everytime the sea waves hit them. Not only it looks stunning because of the contrast between the colour of the marble steps and the colour of the sea but also it's a very peaceful places to sit and enjoy listening the music of the sea. The sound it creates is soft, nice and unique and it really is something you can't experience in any other place in the world.
In addition to that, the same architect created another incredible piece called the Greating to The Sun and basically it's a huge circle on the floor surface consisting of three hundreed multi-layered glass plates with photo-voltage solar modules underneath. This absorbs the sun light from the day and when the night comes, the lights start to turn on! This is also something amazing to see and it's almost on the same place as the Sea Organ so you can enjoy both monuments at the same time!
Both of them, the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun are very unique and they make Zadar such an especial place I really think everyone should visit, in any season because it will always be beautiful and amazing!
