5 Reasons Why I Want To Go Back to Croatia This Winter

Is not a surprise to anyone that I fell completely in love with Croatia last summer. You can easily see it in any of my travel posts or on my Instagram account. And what happens when you find a place that you really love is that you start thinking when are you going to go back there. That is exactly what happen to me, after I came back to Buenos Aires I started to think about when I would go back to Croatia, what would be the perfect time to make another trip, and I started to do some research. After looking for information I realized that Croatia is not only a great destination for summer holidays but also it's an awesome option for winter as well. And I'm going to tell you the 5 reasons why I want to go back to Croatia this winter!

1. To experience Advent in Zagreb

Zagreb is such a lovely city and it was one of my favourites from the last trip so I would really love to go back there any time of the year but I discovered that for Christmas time, Zagreb becomes a magical place. The city has won a recognition for Best European Christmas Market last year and it has been nominated as well for this season so they are really putting a lot of effort into creating a great Christmas experience.
As part of my life in Argentina, I have no idea what it is like to have a white Christmas, where everything is covered in snow so I would really love to have this kind of experience. Plus I saw that for the Advent season there is an open Ice Skating rink in fron of the main train station and I love ice skating so that was more than enough to convince me!

2. To go to Plitvice Lakes again

I know I have already visited Plitvice Lakes last summer but going back during the winter where all the waterfalls are frozen must be mindblowing!!
Plitvice Lakes is a place that you can visit as many times as you want and it will always be different because it's pure nature and it has different kinds of beauty in every season.

3. To visit Trakoscan Castle

I have no idea how I was able to go to Croatia and I didn't visit this place! The truth is I didn't know it existed. Croatia is a small country but full of amazing places to visit and this is definitely one of them. It's a beautiful castle in the top of a hill surrounded by an incredible lake. It's totally worth it and I'm sure in winter must be awesome to see!

4. To go skiing

Lately I have realized how much I love winter sports and I'm not able to practice them more often here becasue the mountains are so far away. But if I'm able to go back to Croatia this winter, I would have many options to go skiing. Medvednica mountain is really close to Zagreb and it's a great winter sports center, which I would probably visit.

5. Because of its people

Last but not the least, croatian people are so kind, opened, warm and nice that they are a good reason for me to want to go back to this country as much as I can. Last time I was there I felt very welcome and at home and for me that's very important because I really like to interact with local people when I travel.

So here they are, my 5 reasons why I want to go back to Croatia! Now I want to know if you have any country or city that you would love to visit again? Let me know in the comments ;)
