The Canotier: The IT Hat for the Summer

Me encanta usar sombreros especialmente en el verano, no solo porque ayudan a proteger la piel y el pelo de los rayos del sol sino porque también son extremadamente chic. Los sombreros puede agregar un toque de glamour a cualquier look de verano de manera instantánea! No hay nada como vestir unos shorts de jean junto con una blusa de hombros descubiertos, unas sandalias y, por supuesto, terminar el conjunto con un sombrero. Es una combinación muy simple y al mismo tiempo muy efectiva!
Pero, de todos los tipos de sombrero que hay disponibles, hay un estilo en particular del que estoy completamente enamorada y es el sombrero canotier. Para aquellos que no estén familiarizados con el término, se trata de los sombreros que usan los gondolieri en Venecia y que últimamente se pueden ver todo el tiempo en Instagram ya que nada representa el verano europeo como el sombrero canotier.
Para mi representa la máxima expersion de elegancia y glamour, además de ser un sombrero de estilo muy clásico que se puede combinar con cualquier tipo de conjunto de verano que se les ocurra.
Así que para el post de hoy les quería compartir un poco de inspiración con el sombrero "it" del verano. Espero que les guste y espero poder comprarme uno de estos sombreros para la próxima temporada porque es uno de mis favoritos sin dudas! :)

I love wearing hats especially in the summer, not only because they protect your hair and skin from the sunlight but also because they are extremely chic. They can instantly add a touch of glamour to any summer outfit! Nothing like wearing some denim shorts with and off the shoulder top, sandals and, of course, a nice hat to complete the outfit. It's such a simple combination yet so powerful!
But, from all the beautiful summer hats available there is one style that I'm completely in love with: the canotier hat. For those of you who may not be familiar with the name of this hat, it is the typical hat that the gondolieri in Venice wear and that you may have seen all over Instagram lately. Because nothing represents the summer days in Europe like a canotier hat. 
For me, it's the maximum expression of elegance and glamour and it's also a very classic style that you will be able to wear forever and that goes perfectly with any summer outfit you can think about.
So for today's post, I want to share with you some inspiration featuring the "it hat" of the summer. I hope you like it and I hope I'm able to buy one of this hats for my next summer because I really love them :)

Lanzamiento Aldo en Falabella

Una de las cosas que más disfruto de viajar es la oportunidad de conocer y probar marcas nuevas que no están disponibles en mi ciudad, y una de las marcas que descubrí recientemente y que me encantó es Aldo.
Esta marca de zapatos y carteras tiene unos diseños increíbles, coloridos y divertidos pero al mismo tiempo muy chic y con mucho estilo. Me acuerdo cuando fui a su tienda en Zagreb que realmente me quería comprar todo ya que los zapatos, las carteras y los accesorios eran hermosos y además la calidad se veía muy buena.
Así que no podría estar más feliz de que Aldo finalmente se lance en el mercado argentino y ahora todos podamos comprar sus productos geniales en las tiendas y en la web de Falabella. Por eso, hoy les quería compartir un wishlist con todos aquellos productos de Aldo que me encantaría comprar. Espero que les guste y por favor cuentenme si conocían esta marca, qué les parece, me encantaría conocer su opinión :)

One of the things that I enjoy about travelling to other countries is the opportunity to try on new brands that are not available in my hometown, and one of the brands I have discovered recently during my last trip and that I fell in love with it was Aldo. 
This shoe and bags brand has some really amazing designs, colourful and fun but at the same time very chic and stylish. I remember when I was visiting their store in Zagreb I literally wanted to buy everything because the shoes, the bags and accessories were so beautiful and the quality of their products is great as well.
So I couldn't be happier that Aldo has recently launched here in Argentina and now we are able to buy their amazing products at Falabella stores and online shop. Therefore, for today's post, I would like to share with you a wishlist of all the products from Aldo that I would like to buy. New Haircut!

Pasó bastante tiempo desde que fui a la peluquería por última vez, así que estuve pensando en que necesitaba un corte de pelo en los últimos dos meses. No tenía planes de hacerme nada muy loco pero quería más que nada volver a un estilo un poco más corto. Así que la semana pasada fui a una nueva peluquería y, al principio, le expliqué a la peluquera que quería el mismo tipo de corte que tenía pero más corto para poder quitar todas las puntas abiertas y dañadas.
Lo particular del corte de pelo que tenía es que la parte de adelante es un poco más larga que la parte de atrás así que le especifiqué a la peluquera que quería mantener eso. Me gusta tener la parte de adelante más larga ya que siento que me ayuda a afinar el rostro. Además me parece muy elegante y más osado.
Lamentablemente, la peluquera no logró mantener esta diferencia de largo exactamente. Ahora mi pelo está más corto y más prolijo pero la parte de adelante no está tan larga como quería y la diferencia con la parte de atrás es muy sutil.
De todas formas, estoy muy contenta porque mi cabello se ve mucho más sano y prolijo que antes, pero estoy segura que voy a ir en el futuro a otra peluquería para intentar tener el mismo estilo que estaba buscando. Espero que les guste! :)

It has been a while since I went to the hair stylist so I was really thinking about it for the last two months. I wasn't thinking about doing anything crazy but I really wanted to go back to something a little bit shorter. So last week, I went to a new hair salon and at first, I said I wanted the same kind of hairstyle I had but shorter, in order to cut all of those damaged and split ends. The trick of my hairstyle is that it was a little bit longer on the front, so I asked exactly for that. I like to have the front part a little bit longer because I believe it makes my face look thinner. Plus I think it's edgy and very elegant.
But the hairstylist didn't exactly make that difference. Now my hair is shorter and more polished but the front part of it is not as long as I wanted and the difference in the length with the back part is very subtle. 
Anyway, I'm happy that my hair looks healthier and more put together but I'm sure I will be going to another hairstylist in the future to try to get the exact style I was looking for. Hope you like it :)

Tips for a Successful Job Interview + Outfit ideas

As some of you may already know because of this post, I have recently left my office job, which means that now I am actively searching for a new one. Even though I have spent the last 7 years of my life working in the same company that doesn't mean that I never went to a job interview during that period of time. It was actually quite the opposite. Only in 2015, I have had 5 interviews in that company and even though they weren't successful in the sense of actually getting the job, they allowed to learn a lot and understand better the interview process.

So, in order to get ready for the future interviews I will be having, I thought it was a great idea to share with you some of my tips and outfit ideas.

Let's start with the tips!

1. Always make sure to do some research about the company you are applying for: This is a very important thing to do before going to a job interview. It's important to get to know the company you are applying, what type of product/service they offer, how many employees they have, in which countries they operate and the most important for me is to know their values and their mission. Knowing this information will allow you to think whether those values match with yours and also it will help you to think about specific examples in which you can show how you apply those values to the interviewer.

2. Think your examples in advance: Once you have gathered all the information about the company and the position you are applying for, it's time to think about the examples that you are going to share with the interviewer. Not all the interviews are the same but, going through many of them made me realise that most of the times they questions they ask are very similar: "Tell me about a situation in which you failed or things didn't work out as you have expected and what didi you do to overcome that?", "Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult client and what did you do to solve the situation?", "Tell me an example of a situation in which you had to influence people and how did you do it?", and the most important for me is "Which skills you consider that you can bring to the position or the company?". The important thing here is to think about real life situations, specific examples that show how you use your skills and how you would manage these scenarios. Try to present them in a very concise way, start with explaining what was the situation or problem, which were your actions to solve it and what was the result. 

3. Be yourself and stay relaxed: going to a job interview can be a stressful situation but it's important to remember that every single interview is an opportunity to learn, to meet new people and companies and it's part of a process in which you can be selected or not. Try to arrive early to the interview in order to reduce some of the stress as well as prepared with some of your answers and examples ready. This will allow you to feel more comfortable because you already know what to say. In case the interviewer asks you something you don't have a prepared answer just take your time to think about it and reply. In the end of the day, if you weren't selected don't take it personally and just appreciate that you had an opportunity to show your skills and also to practice when the next interview comes you will feel a lot more confident and relaxed :)

Last but not the least, one of the things I enjoy more about going to a job interview is thinking about what I am going to wear. So, I also prepared some outfit inspiration to show you! My favourite pieces to wear to a job interview are pants because they make me feel more comfortable and they look very professional. I also sometimes wear some nice flats because I want to make sure that I'm able to walk properly. In addition, I like to wear a blazer as well because it's the easiest way to look professional. In regards to the colours, I normally stick to black, blue and grey for the same reason, those colours are the ones that make you look responsible, professional, capable and all those things we want to show our future employer. Must see places in Zagreb: Dolac Market

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una pequeña serie con los lugares que hay que visitar en Zagreb. Como pude quedarme en la ciudad por más de un mes pude visitar y experimentar todos aquellos sitios típicos. De todas formas, siempre me dejo algo sin ver en caso de que vuelva a la ciudad ;)
Así que para este post, les voy a mostrar un poco del mercado Dolac, que es el principal los típicos mercados de la ciudad de Zagreb. Dolac es el lugar perfecto para conseguir frutas y verduras frescas de los productores locales, así como también se pueden conseguir otras cosas como carne, pescado, frutos secos, flores e incluso los souvenirs típicos para regalar o llevarse a casa.
Incluso si no están planeando comprar ninguna fruta o verdura, igual les recomiendo visitar este mercado porque, en primer lugar, está muy cerca de la plaza principal así que es muy fácil llegar y, además es una forma muy interesante de experimentar la vida de la ciudad. El mercado abierto de Dolac es un lugar lleno de movimiento, gente, colores, olores y, lo más importante de todo, de vida.
También hay otros mercados de este tipo en otras zonas de la ciudad, por ejemplo cerca de uno de los departamentos en los que me quedé había un mercado situado en la plaza Británica, pero el de Dolac es el mercado principal de la ciudad y el más grande. Estos mercados se encuentran abiertos principalmente durante las mañanas, así que para mí, el mejor plan sería disfrutar un buen café cerca de la plaza principal y después dedicarse a recorrer y disfrutar del mercado de Dolac.

Today I want to share with you a little series of must-see places in Zagreb. Since I stayed there for more than a month, I think I was able to visit and experience almost all the typical spots. I have still a few places I didn't visit because I always like to keep some things for a future visit ;)
So for this post, I will show you a little bit of Dolac market, the main and typical Zagreb city market. Dolac is the perfect place to get fresh fruits and vegetables from local producers as well as some other things like meat, fish, nuts, flowers and even typical souvenirs to take home.
Even if you are not planning to buy any fruits or vegetables, I strongly recommend visiting this place because it's super close to the Main Square, so it's very easy to get there and it's a very interesting way to experience the city life. This open market is full of movement, people, colours, scents and most important of all, it's a place full of life.
There are some other markets of this type in different areas of the city, for example, the apartment I was staying in was very close to another market located in the British Square, but Dolac it's the main one and I think it's the biggest. They are open mostly in the mornings so I recommend enjoying a coffee near the Main Square and then going to explore and experience Dolac Market.
