My Top 5 Beauty Favorites 2017

Top 5 Beauty Favorites 2017

We are almost in the new year, I still can't believe how fast this year went by but at the same time, I'm very excited about the new challenges and opportunities 2018 has for me :)
Anyway, before we finish 2017 I wanted to do a little recap of my top 5 Beauty Favorite Products of this year. Most of them I have already mentioned in my previous posts, maybe in a review or in monthly favorites but I feel like this is a great opportunity to confirm that these were by far the products I have used and loved the most during this year. Let's get started!!

1- Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This is number one by far because I feel like my life has divided into before using this product and after. It made a complete difference in my skincare routine and I can't tell you how much I love this product! It makes my skin look brighter, healthier and renewed every morning.

2- Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation

This is the only product I haven't mentioned before on the blog but it really deserves the number two in this post! I have bought this product back when I was in Zagreb during the winter and I have to say that I wasn't even looking for it. I actually went to the store asking for a Clinique foundation and they didn't have it so the salesperson recommended me this one and when she tried it on me and fell instantly in love! :)
This foundation is so light that you don't even feel it on the skin but it has a very good coverage. And what I love about it is that it looks completely natural. I bought it in the tone Golden 4 and it matches perfectly with my skin tone.

3- L'Oréal False Lash Architect Mascara

This was without a doubt my favorite mascara this year and almost the only one I have used. It makes my lashes look so dark and it does a great job of separating and curling them. I really love how my eyes look every time I use this product, it makes a total difference on my make up!

4- Mask of Magnaminty by Lush

This product was such a favorite of mine that I did a special review about it! This mask was life-changing for me! It helped me deep clean, refresh and renew my skin and I love it so much that I already finished it! I was using it constantly every single week since I got it and the results were amazing! Looking forward to a new trip so I can buy it again.

5- Kiehl's Smoothing Oil-Infused Leave-In Concentrate

I talked about this product in my Birthday Haul because it was a present from my friends and I can't tell you enough what a great present it was!!! I'm using this kind of oils or serums in my hair all the time because my hair tends to be super dry and damaged. This product has Argan and Babassu Oils which is exactly what my hair needs to be healthy, hydrated and nourished. Plus, it has the most amazing scent in the world and it doesn't make my hair oily or anything. So I really love it and I'm using it every single day as well.

So these were my top 5 beauty favorite products of this year, I hope you like this post and I would really love to know which were your favorites of 2017?

Finding the Best Makeup Brushes

In order to achieve a fabulous makeup, it is not enough to have the best foundation, the most amazing bronzer and blush and the most gorgeous eyeshadow colors if you don't have the right tools to apply it. We sometimes concentrate all our efforts on finding what is the best makeup product for our skin tone, which colors will make stand out our best facial features and sometimes we forget the importance of having the most suitable makeup brush for each product. Because no matter how good the makeup is, if we are applying it with an incorrect or a bad quality brush, the results are not going to be as good as we want.

Picture from: Review.com

And it's really a pity because we sometimes invest a lot of money in buying high-quality makeup and don't take the same approach for the brushes. I'm saying this because that was my mindset a few years ago. I didn't have any good makeup brushes, I was just buying something that was cheap because I thought that, for example, if the eyeshadows were good then they will look good. But, I found it really hard to apply them correctly and in the end, the result wasn't as good as I have expected because they weren't so blended or they weren't applied in the right places.
For me, buying makeup brushes was complex because there are a lot of options, a lot of different brushes for different things and I didn't know so much about the topic. I still don't consider myself an expert on this but since I have started to learn about it and invest in a few good brushes I have seen a lot of difference. Now, for example, it is a lot easier for me to do my eyes make up because I have an angeled crease brush which allows me to apply the eyeshadow in the right place and blend it perfectly. Plus, there is no better sensation than applying your favorite makeup product with a brush that feels extremely soft and gentle.

So, when I found out that Reviews.com had made a complete list of the Best Makeup Brushes I thought it was going to be a great resource to share with you because I know how much we struggle to find the brushes that are suitable for us and I know how confusing this task may be, especially if you are on a budget and don't have lots of money to buy different brushes to test. You just want a couple of makeup brushes that are good quality, affordable, durable and that suit your needs.
Reviews.com made all the testing for you. They spoke to dermatologists and makeup artists to understand what to look for in a brush and then hand-tested 70 brushes from 16 popular brands (including Chanel, Sephora, Tarte, MAC, Real Techniques, Sigma and many others) and then they picked up their favorites taking into consideration their softness, durability, grip and, of course, design.

Picture from: Review.com

They tested 5 different brushes from each of the selected brands: a liquid foundation brush, a blush brush, a general eyeshadow brush, an eyeshadow smudge brush and an eyeliner brush. The results were that Sephora PRO Collection was their top pick in the overall, Tom Ford brushes were the best for Luxury makeup Brushes and Sonia Kashuk Tools were the best on a budget.

Also, this resource has very interesting tips about how to properly use your makeup brushes and how to properly clean them so you can make the most of your tools.
So, if any of you are considering buying new brushes I strongly recommend reading the guide from Reviews.com in order to find out how the brushes you are planning to buy are going to perform or if you don't have anything in mind, then even better because you will find many useful recommendations.
I hope you find this post interesting and useful and I would love to know what is your favorite makeup brushes brand and why?

My Eveveryday Make Up Routine 2017

I think it's been a while since I have posted my everyday make up routine and I just realised that I have changed many of the products that I was using before during this year. That's why I thought it was going to be a great idea to do an updated post to show you my new everyday make up routine with all the new products I have incorporated into it.
First of all, I would like to say that for my everyday makeup I like to keep it very natural and basic. This is a very simple routine that only takes me around five minutes to do and it helps me to look better and more put together but it's a very subtle type of makeup. So, if you like something that is more glamorous maybe you can use this as the base for your make up routine and add more eyeshadows, or an eyeliner to make this makeup look more interesting. I also do that when I have some kind of event and I want my makeup to be more visible but for my normal life, this would be enough.

First, in regards to the foundation, I don't normally wear any for my everyday routine because, as I said, I like my makeup to be super natural. That's why I tend to wear a BB Cream because they will keep your skin hydrated, even your skin tone and add a little bit of color without covering that much. I am currently wearing the Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream from Kiehl's in the shade Natural and I'm loving this product. It's very light and moisturizing and I love that it has Vitamin C and SPF 50! This particular shade it's a little bit lighter for my skin tone but as it doesn't cover that much you can't really see the difference. Also if my skin doesn't look very good one day and I have many imperfections, I would choose to wear a foundation because, as I said, this BB Cream doesn't cover a lot.

Then I would apply my concealer. Right now I'm using the Sheer Eye Zone Corrector by Shiseido in the shade 104 Natural Ochre. I have never tried Shiseido products before but I'm really happy I got this concealer because it has a very nice color that matches perfectly with my skin tone and it does cover pretty well the dark zone under my eyes. Another thing I love about this product is that it comes with a very practical brush which makes it super easy to apply the concealer.

The next step is something that I just recently added to my routine and that is the eye primer. I always wanted to try an eye primer to see how it works and this year when I was in Croatia, I bought the I love Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow base by Essence because I can't get this brand here in Argentina and I'm pretty satisfied with it. I notice that it helps my eyeshadow to stay in place throughout the day and also I feel like the eyeshadow colour looks better with this product.

For the eyeshadow, I normally like to wear a colour that will help me to illuminate my eyes, so I always look for some champagne, light beige kind of colour and I'm currently using the Vamp! Compact Eyeshadow from Pupa in the shade 101 Vanilla. I think this tone is just perfect, it looks so natural and bright and another thing I love about it is that it's matte because I don't like wearing shimmery eyeshadows for a normal day.

After that, I apply the mascara. At the moment, I'm using the False Lash Architect by L'Oréal and I'm in love with it. I was using another mascara from this brand, the Volume Million Lashes Excess, which was also pretty good by I think the False Lash Architect has a better brush, it really separates my lashes and makes them look longer.

Last but not the least I will apply something to my lips. For a normal day, I may just go with a lip balm but if I want my makeup to look better I would apply this Mac Matte lipstick in the shade Velvet Teddy. This color is so nice and delicate that I really love to wear it, even though I don't normally wear anything on the lips. It really complements the nice and natural look.

So that's it for my everyday make up routine! I hope you like it and please let me know which are your favorite products for an everyday look, I would love to read your comments! Have a great week!! :)

My New Favourite Mascara

I heard once that it's necessary to change your mascara once every three months because it gets full of different bacteria that ends up damaging your eyes. So whenever I need to buy a new mascara, I always try to take the opportunity to try a different one. I was using a very nice mascara from Revlon but I got a little bored of it because it was a little bit too heavy to use it every day and it was very difficult to take it out. And, on top of that, my Revlon mascara had already met the 3 months deadline so it was time for a change.
I decided to try a different brand this time, so I ended up buying one from L'Oréal because I have never tried their mascaras and I'm very surprised with the good quality they have.
I chose one called Volume Million Lashes Excess, which is not waterproof so it's perfect to wear it every day and it's very light but still it makes my lashes look so long and thick it's really great!
I also love the brush it has because it makes it a lot easier to apply the mascara in my lashes. So, I'm very satisfied with this mascara and I hope you find this little review helpful! Let me know if you use this product or if you recommend any other mascara from L'Oréal :)

Make Up Review: Max Factor Pan Stik

Some days ago I run out of my concealer and for me it was such a tragedy because I have some very dark circles to cover. I was using Diorskin Nude Concealer but as I have mentioned before I'm trying to save some money for my trip to Europe so I decided it was a good opportunity to try a new one. I went to the store last weekend and ask for a concealer and the sales lady started to show me the options from Max Factor, a brand that I haven't tried before. We first started with a liquid concealer which was quite nice but it didn't cover as much as I wanted to and then she showed me this Pan Stik foundation. She told me it was a concealer but it's actually a foundation. However, when I tried it, I found the color very nice and similar to my skin tone and also it is really powerful in the task of covering my dark circles. So I bought this product and I am very happy with the results, it really hides the imperfections of my skin and I love the packaging because it's really small and practical to carry it on my bag every day. What do you think? Have you tried this product?

Everyday Make Up Essentials

For my everyday life I use a very simple and basic make up routine. I like my make up to look very polished but also to look very natural so after trying different things I managed to create this routine with 4 quick steps:
1- Concealer: this is for me the most important step in order to look good, I use it to cover the dark circles in my eyes and acne spots. I am currently using Diorskin Nude Concealer.

2- BB Cream: I love using a BB cream for my everyday routine since it evens the skin tone and keeps the look very natural. Another thing that I love is that most of BB creams have also sunscreen which is really important to protect the skin. I use Dior Hydra Life BB Cream.

3- Eyeshadow: For my everyday look I always use a nude eyeshadow because as I said before it keeps your look natural but it also helps to make the eyes look brighter and rested. For my eyeshadow I'm using Diorshow Mono Nude Eyeshadow.

4- Mascara: this is a key step to finish my make up because mascara opens your eye and also helps to look rested and fresh. The mascara will always draw the attention to our eyes. I started using Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara and I'm very happy with the results because my lashes look great and they are moisturized so I'm not loosing a lot of lashes when I take the mascara out.
