Review: Le All in One Base and Top Coat from L'Oréal

Today I want to share with you a quick review of this new product I have been using lately. I was looking for a new base to apply to my nails before the nail polish because I think it really helps to keep my nails healthy and nourished and it also helps the nail polish color to look better.

I love doing my manicure myself at home because I feel like it's my "me-time", it helps me to relax and disconnect so I always enjoy trying new nail products. This base and top coat from L'Oréal recently caught my attention because it has rose oil. Also, it's a 2 in 1 and you know how much I love this kind of products that you can use for different things.

So, even though it's a little bit more expensive than the other nail products I was using before, I thought it was still a good investment because you get a base and a top coat in one product. 

Anyway, let's dive into the important thing here: does it really work? Well, I have two different opinions about it. As a base, I definitely love it! I feel like the rose oil really does a good job keeping my nails healthy and nourished. Also, I don't see my nails getting stained from the nail polish colors and they are not getting yellow as well, something that has happened to me before with other products. In addition, my nails are not getting broken and they are chipping a lot less. 

On the other hand, as a top coat, I'm not so convinced about this product mainly because of two things: it doesn't dry as fast as some other products I have tried before and it doesn't give as much shine to my nails. I would like to point out that this product is not a quick dry product but I still feel like it takes a lot get dry, which doesn't help if you are like me and can't keep your hands still for a long time. In regards, to the finish, it's not super shiny but I'm ok with that, I feel like it gives you a decent shine but nothing too crazy.

I would recommend this product if you don't want to have too many different products and also if you are looking for a good base for your manicure. But if you are considering this product to use it more as a top coat, then in that case, maybe you can get some better options (for example the Insta-dri from Sally Hansen, which is my all time favorite top coat).

In general, I feel satisfied with this product and I will continue to use it. I hope you find this review helpful and please let me know if you have tried this product? Also, tell me which are your favorite nail products?  I would love to know! :)

Monthly Favorites!

Before we start with this monthly favorites, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the amazing comments and feedback you gave me on my last post and video!! It made me so happy that you also liked the idea of re-creating Instagram looks! I would try to make more videos like that in the future if you want! ;)

Anyway, there were a few new products I have been loving and using a lot during last month so I thought I would share them with you in this edition of Monthly Favorites! Let's start! :)

1- Nivea Creme Care Facial Cleansing Cream

I have just recently bought this new Nivea Cleansing cream and I'm loving it so far! The texture is very creamy and nice, it has the typical Nivea scent and I feel like it does a very good job cleaning my skin. I use it every morning and at night as well, and what I love about this product the most is that as this is very creamy it doesn't leave my face feeling dry after using it. On the contrary, I feel it quite hydrated so this is one of my favorites this month for sure! 

2- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream

Continuing with skincare favorites, this Neutrogena Eye cream has also been one of my recent successful purchases. I have picked this product because I have heard very good things about it from some of my fellow bloggers so I was very interested in trying this out!
I really love the gel-cream texture it has because it feels very light and gentle. Also, I find it very refreshing when I apply it in my eye are and that is always a plus for me! ;)

3- Mavala Miss Chic Nail Polish Kit

This lovely nail polish set was a Christmas gift from my parents and I just realized that I haven't talked about it yet here on the blog! This kit contains two nail polish shades from Mavala and what I love about it is that both of them are very elegant and classic colors that you can wear all the time! 
The shade 156 Rococo Red is the perfect red and this is the one I have been wearing the most lately! It goes perfectly with any outfit and it adds that chic look. 
On the other hand, the shade 381 Rouge Forever is that deep red wine shade that looks amazing during Fall-Winter season. I haven't worn this one yet but once the weather starts to get colder here, I'm sure this would be my go-to nail polish!

Favourite Nail Polish Shades for Winter

A medida que los días comienzan a enfriarse en Buenos Aires (la semana pasada hizo tanto frío que ya empecé a usar mi tapado y mi bufanda), los colores de mis esmaltes de uñas también empiezan a volverse más oscuros y profundos. No se bien por qué, pero me resulta muy glamoroso llevar un esmalte de color bien oscuro en estos días fríos, como un marrón oscuro o un violeta que se vea casi negro. Me parece que combinan mucho mejor con el tono y el estado de animo de mi guardarropa de invierno. Asímismo, otro color que me encanta usar durante esta temporada es el bordeaux, me parece que es un tono que siempre se ve impecable! Así que para el post del día de hoy, les quería compartir mis tres tonos de esmalte preferidos para el invierno. Estos son los esmaltes que uso continuamente en esta temporada porque me parece que tienen unos tonos hermosos, muy chic y que van perfecto con mi paleta de colores de invierno. As the days start to get colder here in Buenos Aires (last week was so cold, I already started to wear my coat and scarf) my nail polish shades start to get darker as well. I don't know exactly why, but there is something extra glamorous about wearing a deep shade for these cold days, like dark brown or dark purple, they just match better with the mood and the tone of my winter wardrobe. Also, another shade that I love to wear during this season is bordeaux, I think it always looks perfect! So for today's post, I would like to share with you, my 3 favourite nail polish shades for winter. These are the nail polish I continuously wear throughout the season because I think they are gorgeous, chic and really go well with every colour of my winter palette. My New Favourite Nail Polish Shades

I was looking for some new nail polish shades lately and I'm very happy to tell you that I have found some really amazing colors last week. There was a special promotion in Farmacity Look, which is like my favourite beauty store here, so I was able to buy 3 nail polish and I just paid for two.
It was a bit hard to choose only three colors because there were a lot of amazing shades but I decided to get this 3:
The first one was Rimmel's 60 Seconds Super Shine and the shade is called "Gimme some of that" (335). I really like this color, I think it's super versatile and I'm sure I will be able to use it now in the spring but also when the fall comes it will still look great! This shade is super elegant and chic!

The next nail polish I bought was also from Rimmel 60 Seconds in the shade Coralicious (430). This shade I already had it before and I love it!! That's why I have bought it again. I think this one is the perfect summer shade, it's super nice, fun and fresh. It's a perfect mix of coral with a little bit of a pink tone.

And the third one was Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in the shade Red my Lips (470) and I have to say that I really wanted a classic red color because you can never go wrong with red. 
Red nails are the ultimate sign of elegance and they will make you look chic in a very easy way. So for me, it is a must to have a good shade of red and Sally Hansen products have very good quality.

My Favourite Nail Polish Shades for Spring

Siempre que llega la primavera estamos tentadas de agregar colores más brillantes y también colores pastel a nuestras uñas y, últimamente, tengo muchas ganas de comprar algunos esmaltes nuevos para estar un poco más a tono con la nueva temporada. Por eso, les prepare esta wishlist de Farmacity con mis esmaltes favoritos. Espero que les gusten y no se olviden de comentarme cuál es el que más les gusta ;) 

Whenever Spring comes we are always tempted to add more brighter and more pastel shades to our nails. I'm really looking forward to buy some new nail polishes to get a little bit more into the Spring season so I prepared this wishlist from Farmacity's online store to share with you my favourite shades. Sally Hansen Dry & Go Drops

Hace algunas semanas, me compré este producto de Sally Hansen debido a que me quedé sin mi top coat que uso normalmente, lo pueden ver en este post, y como no estaba disponible decidí probar algo nuevo.
Me había enterado de la existencia de estas gotitas Dry & Go hace algún tiempo y siempre las había querido probar porque me cuesta mucho esperar a que se seque el esmalte de uñas. Este producto ofrece unos excelentes resultados en secar el esmalte y es muy fácil de utilizar, solamente aplico 1 o 2 gotas en cada uña y espero un minuto y eso es todo: las uñas queda completamente secas!
Lo único que podría llegar a objetar de este producto es que no ayuda a que no se salte el esmalte de uñas pero creo que eso es debido a que no es el objetivo de este producto, sino que solamente ayuda a que el esmalte se seque más rápido, por lo que sería necesario agregar un top coat debajo para obtener mejores resultados. Por fuera de esto, me parece un producto fantástico!

Some weeks ago, I bought this product from Sally Hansen because I run out of the top coat I normally use, which you can see in this post, and it wasn't available so I decided to try something new. 
I learnt about these Dry & Go Drops some time ago and wanted to try them because I always find it very hard to wait until the nail polish gets dry. This product has some amaizing results in getting the nail polish dry and it's very easy to use, I just need to apply 1 or 2 drops in every nail and wait a minute and that's it: the nails get completely dry!
The only thing I may object about this product is that it doesn't protect the nail polish from chipping, but I think that's because is not the main goal of this product to do that, it only helps you to dry the nail polish faster, so I would still need to use a top coat underneath to have better results. Apart from that I think it's a great product!

New In: Dior Vernis

La semana pasada fui a un evento en mi perfumería favorita, estuvo muy lindo, había bebidas y sándwiches, promociones y varios sorteos (aclaro que fiel a mi costumbre no gané nada jajaj). Justo tenía que comprar el Miss Dior que se me estaba terminando pero ya que estaba aproveché para comprarme este hermoso esmalte. Me enamoré del color, es tan elegante y clásico, especial para esta época de invierno, así que me parece que fue una buena inversión, no?

Last week I went to an event in my favourite perfume shop, it was very nice, there were some drinks and sandwiches, special promotions and toss ups. I needed to buy my Miss Dior perfume because I was running out of it but I took the chance to also buy this beautiful nail polish. I felt in love with this color, it's so elegant and classic, perfect for my winter season, so I think it was a good investment, don't you think?

New Products: Garden Angels Hand Mask & L'Oréal La Manicure

La semana pasada probé estos dos productos y los incorporé a mi rutina de cuidado de las manos y uñas. Como expliqué en posts anteriores, siempre suelo buscar productos que mantengan mis manos y uñas hidratadas ya que uso mucho esmalte y esto tiende a secar las uñas y escamarlas.
Así que comencé a utilizar esta mascarilla para manos de Universo Garden Angels, la cual esta llena de aceites naturales: de lima, uva, almendra y palta. La estoy usando una vez a la semana, solamente necesito aplicarla y dejarla por 15 minutos para que se absorba. Luego, hay que enjuagarla con agua tibia y las manos me quedan completamente humectadas y suaves.
Asimismo, empecé a usar el sérum para uñas La Manicure de L'Oréal. Hace tiempo que me quería comprar este producto pero estaba usando la base de Sally Hansen. Así que cuando se me terminó este producto decidí probar la base de L'Oréal. Este sérum es perfecto para hidratar y nutrir las uñas ya que contiene aceite de argán. Además se seca bastante rápido, algo que es muy importante para mí ya que me gusta tener una manicura perfecta sin tener que esperar muchas horas.

Last week I tried these two products and I have incorporated them into my hand-nail care routine. As I have explained in previous posts I always look for products to keep my hands and nails hydrated because I use a a lot of nail polish which tends to dry the nails and chip them.
So, I started to use this hand mask from Universo Garden Angels which is full of natural oils: lime, grape, almond and avocado. I'm using it once a week, I just apply it on my hands and leave it for 15 minutes. I then remove it with water and my hands are completely moisturized and soft.
I also started to use the nail serum La Manicure from L'Oréal. I wanted to buy this product from a long time ago but I was using the base coat from Sally Hansen. So when I finished this product I decided to try the L'Oréal base. This serum is perfect for moisturizing and nourishing the nails since it contains argan oil. Plus it dries really quickly which for me it is really important because I like to have a perfect manicure without waiting for a lot of hours.

Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polish

La semana pasada encontré este esmalte de Revlon Parfumerie y no me pude resistir a comprarlo. Me enamoré al instante debido a que el frasco se veía muy lindo y además porque había unos colores muy hermosos disponibles. Pero lo que es realmente increíble de este esmalte es que tiene perfume. El que compré tiene un olorcito como a cereza y realmente hace una diferencia con el típico olor que suelen tener los esmaltes. Cada vez que acerco mis manos a mi cara, siento el perfume del esmalte y me hace feliz así que fue una gran compra!

Last week I found the Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polish and I couldn't resist to buy it. I instantly fell in love with it because it looks really cute and also there are some very nice colors available. But what is really amaizing about this nail polish is that is scented. The one I bought has cherry kind of scent and it really makes a difference with the regular nail polish smell. Everytime I put my hands near my face I smell this perfume and I'm happy. So it was a great purchase! 

Review: Sally Hansen Insta-dri Top Coat

Como mencione en uno de mis posts anteriores, es muy importante usar un buen top coat para poder lograr que nuestro esmalte dure más tiempo. Así que hace un par de semanas me compré este top coat Insta-Dri de Sally Hansen. Este producto se utiliza para secar el esmalte más rápido y proteger el color.
Lo estuve usando últimamente y lo que puedo decir es que realmente funciona en lograr que el esmalte se seque más rápido, para esto es un producto genial! Me encanta porque suelo tener muchos accidentes cuando me estoy pintando las uñas así que es muy útil. Pero no protege tanto el color. No estoy viendo que mi color de uñas dure mucho más, sigue durando alrededor de cuatro días, estoy obteniendo el mismo resultado que con el top coat que usaba antes.Por último, un plus de este producto es que realza mucho el brillo del esmalte que estemos usando.

As I mentioned in one of my previous post it is very important to use a good top coat in order for our nail polish to last longer. So a couple of weeks ago I purchased this Insta-Dri top coat from Sally Hansen. This product is used to dry our nail polish faster and protect it. 
I have been using it and what I can say about it is that it really works in getting the nail polish to dry faster, for that it's great! I love it because I tend to have a lot of accidents when I'm doing my nails so it is pretty useful. But, on the other hand, it doesn't protect the color that much, I'm not seeing my color to last longer, just around four days, the same result that I was getting with my previous top coat. Finally, another plus that this product has is that it enhances the shine of your nail polish.

Cuidado de las uñas parte 2: Los productos esenciales

Para continuar con los tips para el cuidado de las uñas que Luz nos compartió en el post anterior, me gustaría agregar cuáles considero que son los productos esenciales que todas deberíamos tener para conseguir unas uñas espléndidas.
En primer lugar, siempre es necesario utilizar una base antes de aplicar el esmalte, ya que le brinda a nuestras uñas distintos nutrientes para mantenerlas hidratadas y que no se nos pongan amarillas o se nos quiebren. Hay bases con diferentes propiedades según cuál sea la necesidad de nuestras uñas, en mi caso particular, yo siempre aplico primero el Miracle Cure de Sally Hansen que sirve para fortalecerlas y evitar que se escamen. Este fue el único producto de los que fui probando que mejoró este aspecto, ya que anteriormente mis uñas se escamaban muchisimo y desde que empecé a utilizarlo esta situación cambió mucho. Mis uñas ya no se escaman tan seguido como antes y, si lo hacen, no es en la misma medida.

Otro de los productos que descubrí recientemente y que se sumó a mis esenciales es el Quitaesmalte Express Studio 9 de Farmacity. No hay nada que me resultara más molesto que sacarme el esmalte de las uñas. Andar con el quitaesmalte líquido y el algodón, que te manchaba todas las manos era un bajón. Además de que yo siempre terminaba volcandolo. Ahora con el quitaesmalte express, me saco el esmalte de todas las uñas en dos minutos y sin manchas en los dedos. No tiene desperdicio.

Por último siempre hay que tener a mano un kit de esos que vienen con alicate, limas y todas esas cosas que harán más fácil nuestro trabajo de cuidarnos las uñas.

Las mujeres vivimos ocupándonos de nuestro cuidado personal  y si bien, dependiendo la época del año, podemos posponer alguno, nuestras manos nos delatan y, personalmente, creo que es una de las cosas que tenemos que tener perfectas a diario.

Si bien nos encanta ir al spa y relajarnos mientras la manicure nos deja las uñas hermosas, no es indispensable gastar fortunas,  ya que con unos pequeños tips caseros tus manos se van a destacar siempre por su delicadeza y prolijidad.

• Lo primero es lo primero…tu kit de belleza de manos:

Tener los esmaltes ordenados no sólo te va a ayudar a tenerlos todos juntos y elegir el color que más te guste, sino que además los va a conservar y evitar que se te sequen. Un esmalte no solo depende de la marca y/o calidad, sino también del cuidado que le des. Antes, yo los tenia desparramados, en distintos cajones o carteras, a veces estaban caídos y cuando los quería usar me encontraba con que no estaban 100% bien para usarlos. Se me ocurrió organizarlos en una caja - esas de madera artesanal- , y siempre pero siempre los tengo en perfectas condiciones para usarlos. 

•         Aprovechar tus momentos libres en casa:

Mientras miro tv, escucho música o tomo un té en casa con alguna una amiga, aprovecho y  remuevo el esmalte viejo de mis uñas,  las limo,  las enjuago, las hidrato con una buena crema de manos y finalmente le doy el toque de color que más me guste ese día.  Lo hago dos veces por semana, generalmente los miércoles y  sábados o domingos. Si bien muchos esmaltes son o dicen ser de larga duración, la realidad es que no duran en perfectas condiciones los siete días de la semana. Con este tip vas a verte perfecta y ¡con tu uñas arregladas siempre! No te olvides de agregar una buena base de esmalte ya sea neutral o con alguna propiedad que ayude a la apariencia del esmaltado y algún brillo para resaltar el color al final de la aplicación. Si sabés que vas a tener una semana complicada, mejor pintarte de algún color claro o base, para tenerlas prolijas y en caso de no poder mantenerlas,  estar segura que no van a resaltar.

 

•          Ser precavidas:

Yo suelo llevar el esmalte del color que las tengo pintadas en mi  cartera,  para que ante cualquier eventualidad le pueda dar un retoque; tener unas uñas perfectas pero con una accidentada, hará que toda la atención se desvíe a esa bendita uña que te abandonó. Tampoco está de más una lima de cartera…  ¡Nada más molesto que una uña rota!

Creo que si pones en práctica estos consejos vas a poder disfrutar de unas uñas divinas, ¡para no esconderlas más!
