New Sunglasses!

La semana pasada me compré estos increíbles anteojos de Union Pacific, que era algo que venia pensando en comprar hace bastante tiempo. Me gustaron mucho porque son bastante grandes, tiene un estilo un poco cat eye y además son espejados, algo que esta muy de moda últimamente. Creo que quedan muy bien para la forma de mi cara, que es un poco cuadrada. Así que el tip para elegir los anteojos adecuados sería que si tenes una cara muy redondeada elijas aquellos modelos con marco cuadrado para compensar. Sin embargo, si tenes una forma de cara cuadrada es conveniente elegir anteojos con lineas mas redondeadas para suavizar nuestras facciones. 

Last weekend I bought these incredible sunglasses from Union Pacific, something I have had in mind for a very long time. I liked them because they are quite big, with a little cat eye style and they are also mirrored, which is very trendy. I think they look very good with my face shape, which is kind of squared. So the tip for getting the right type of sunglasses for you is that if you have a very rounded face you should go for a more squared frame. On the contrary, if your face is squared like mine you should choose those ones who are rounded.

December is a month full of activities. As we approach the year end, there are a lot of parties we need to attend, whether is the year end party from our work or a friend’s party, for each of these occasions we would need a perfect dress.

Every time one of my friends has a special event in which they need to use a dress they always ask me for guidance. Not only regarding the shape of the dress or the color that would suit them best but also they always ask me about places to find a good dress.

Trend: Denim on Denim

Hay muchas posibilidades cuando pensamos en denim, ya sea que usemos un par de jeans o una camisa de denim, una campera o una falda, siempre podremos vernos cómodas, juveniles y casuales con este material.
El denim se uso en principio para la mayoria de las prendas de trabajo, como por ejemplo para los mineros y vaqueros (de ahí que también se utilice esa denominación para los pantalones), debido a su resistencia y durabilidad pero después de la segunda guerra mundial comenzó a formar parte del guardarropa casual. Este cambio también fue impulsado por la industria cinematográfica que popularizó los jeans a partir de la película "Rebelde sin causa".

There are a lot of possibilities when we think about denim, whether we use a pair of jeans or a denim shirt, jacket or a skirt, we will always look comfortable, youthful and casual with this fabric.

Deco findings in Wal Mart

Los supermercados son un lugar genial para encontrar algunas piezas de decoración muy interesantes y a buen precio. En mi caso, por lo general suelo comprar cosas de decoración en Wal Mart, así que pensé en preparar un post para mostrar las cosas hermosas que conseguí y cómo las estoy usando.

Supermarkets are a great place to find some interesting and affordable decorations pieces. In my case, I usually buy some decoration stuff in Wal Mart, so I thought of preparing a post to show the beautiful things I got from Wal Mart and how I use them.

En primer lugar, compré este fanal para velas que en realidad estoy usándolo para guardar mi maquillaje diario. / First of all, I bought this recipient for candles but I actually use it to store my daily make up. 

Después compre este otro recipiente que creo que era para la cocina, como para guardar cereales o algo así pero lo estoy usando para guardar los discos de algodón que uso todos los días para limpiarme la piel. Además de ser muy práctico me parece que se ve muy bien. / Then I bought another recipient that I think was for the kitchen, to put cereals for example but I'm using it to store the cotton I use everyday to clean my skin. It is very practical and also I think it looks good.

También compré esta bandeja de vidrio parisina que estoy usando para poner todos mis productos de cuidado de la piel / I also bough this beautiful parisian plate which I'm using for keeping all my daily skin care products together. 

Por último pero no menos importante, encontré este almohadón blanco increíble que es como de piel y que lo amo. / Last but not least, I found this incredible white faux fur pillow which I am in love with.

From Office to Cocktail

La semana pasada tuve un evento del trabajo y como no tenía tiempo de volver a casa a cambiarme decidí compartirles como me las arreglé para armar dos looks diferentes para la oficina y para la cena.
Usé una remera y un blazer negros para la oficina que mantuve también para la cena. Agregué unos jeans y unas chatitas de animal print para la versión diurna que después cambié por una pollera blanca con estampado de flores negras y mis stilettos rojos de este post. También use los mismos accesorios para ambas ocasiones pero agregué un sobre negro para el evento de noche para tener algunos objetos como el celular más a mano.
Me pareció que esta era una combinación práctica ya que solamente necesitaba llevar la pollera, los zapatos y el sobre para cambiarme a la tarde.


Last week I had a cocktail event from work and as I didn't have time to get back home to change my clothes I decided to share with you how I managed to style two different looks for the office and for the cocktail. 
I used a black t-shirt and a black blazer for the office, which I mantained for the cocktail. I added jeans and ballerinas for the office and then changed them for a skirt with flower prints and my red stilettos from this post. I also use the same accesories for both ocasions but I added a black clutch for the evening so that I could have some of my things, such as my cellphone, more handy.
I thought this was a practical combination since I only needed to carry the skirt, the shoes and the clucth to change in the afternoon.

Review: Sally Hansen Insta-dri Top Coat

Como mencione en uno de mis posts anteriores, es muy importante usar un buen top coat para poder lograr que nuestro esmalte dure más tiempo. Así que hace un par de semanas me compré este top coat Insta-Dri de Sally Hansen. Este producto se utiliza para secar el esmalte más rápido y proteger el color.
Lo estuve usando últimamente y lo que puedo decir es que realmente funciona en lograr que el esmalte se seque más rápido, para esto es un producto genial! Me encanta porque suelo tener muchos accidentes cuando me estoy pintando las uñas así que es muy útil. Pero no protege tanto el color. No estoy viendo que mi color de uñas dure mucho más, sigue durando alrededor de cuatro días, estoy obteniendo el mismo resultado que con el top coat que usaba antes.Por último, un plus de este producto es que realza mucho el brillo del esmalte que estemos usando.

As I mentioned in one of my previous post it is very important to use a good top coat in order for our nail polish to last longer. So a couple of weeks ago I purchased this Insta-Dri top coat from Sally Hansen. This product is used to dry our nail polish faster and protect it. 
I have been using it and what I can say about it is that it really works in getting the nail polish to dry faster, for that it's great! I love it because I tend to have a lot of accidents when I'm doing my nails so it is pretty useful. But, on the other hand, it doesn't protect the color that much, I'm not seeing my color to last longer, just around four days, the same result that I was getting with my previous top coat. Finally, another plus that this product has is that it enhances the shine of your nail polish.

Trend: Ripped Jeans

Los jeans rotos o gastados son una de las tendencias más vistas. Las celebridades, it girls, bloguers en todo el mundo nos muestran distintas maneras de usarlos. Su éxito se basa en que es una prenda que nos permite darle un toque atrevido y casual a nuestro look y además al ser jeans ofrecen un montón de alternativas que podemos combinar con todo.
Otro punto a favor es que podemos encontrar estos pantalones con roturas en distintos grados, los hay muy rotos y los hay más gastados y con alguna rotura sutil. Esto nos permite poder utilizarlos en distintas ocasiones quizás los más rotos para un fin de semana o salida muy casual, y los que tengan un desgaste más delicado hasta podríamos sumarlo a nuestro guardarropa laboral, por ejemplo, para los días viernes en los que se suele permitir más licencias en la vestimenta de las oficinas.

Their success is based on the fact that they are a garment that allow us to add a a casual and easy going touch to our look. Besides since we are talking about jeans, they offer us many alternatives that we can combine with anything.
Another positive thing about this trend is that we can find different types. We can find very ripped jeans and others that are less ripped. This allow us to use them in different occasions, perhaps we can use the more ripped ones in our weekend or in a casual date and the distressed jeans that are more sutil we can use even add them to our working outfits, for example on casual fridays, when companies are more flexible with the dress code.
